We are a dedicated team that focuses on outpatient services in speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. We also have bilingual therapist to accommodate all families.
We are excited to work with our Las Cruces and surrounding communities. We recently expanded and our new clinic is beautiful. Our facility includes 2 large motor therapy gyms, along with 8 individualized speech therapy rooms each with a viewing window for parents and family to watch their child grow. Aprendamos and Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic Recognize
Physical Therapists with Pediatric Clinic Specialization
LAS CRUCES, NM. – Aprendamos Intervention Team and Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic announce that two of their therapists, Zoe Gutierrez and Liz Weiss, have successfully completing their certification as Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy.
According to the American Physical Therapy Association there are currently four Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist in New Mexico. Zoe Gutierrez has recertified and Liz Weiss is newly certified in Texas and New Mexico bringing this number to five Pediatric Clinic Specialists in New Mexico. Aprendamos and Esperanza plan to continue investing in their staff through continuing education and specialty certifications like this.
Candidates who are eligible for recertification must hold a current certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists and meet a minimum eligibility requirements, including a current physical therapy license and a minimum number of direct patient care hours, since the date of most recent certification.
Candidates must complete a competency assessment to achieve recertification. They are recertified either by completing a written examination of approximately 200 questions or by completing a professional development portfolio (PDP). The PDP is a documentation of professional development activities related to specialty practice. Candidates may also receive PDP points for patient-care experience that is beyond the minimum eligibility requirement for recertification.

The fact that there are only a handful of therapists in the state with this specialization and we have two at our Esperanza Clinic is really something to be proud of” said Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic Director, Celina Waller.
Aprendamos Intervention Team provides early intervention services for children age’s birth to 3 years. Children receive services in their natural environment or home based services. Aprendamos provides speech-language, occupation, physical, and family therapy. Along with nutrition, nursing, service coordination, and autism services. Aprendamos services are provided through out Dona Ana County as part of the NM Family Infant Toddler Program.
Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic provides outpatient clinic therapy services for children ages three to 18. Clinic services include Speech – Language, Occupation, and Physical Therapy. Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic has two locations to better serve Doña Ana County located at 1681 Hickory Loop, in Las Cruces, and 1275 Anthony Drive, in Anthony, NM.
